Nicola Beddall-Hill (MSc) is completing her PhD at City University, London. She is studying the role of mobile devices in fieldwork, and particularly the increasing role of personal, generic technologies such as ‘smartphones’ where once specialist equipment was essential. She has drawn on Actor-Network Theory and Ecological approaches in order to understand these developments.
Nicola works part time as a Research Associate on the Representing Re-Formation project at the University of Leicester. Alongside Effie Law she is investigating the role social media can play in evaluating and redesigning the project’s website as well as consulting on the proposed mobile App.
